The job market is constantly changing and even more so now. Nowadays, knowing how industry works is no longer a desired asset, but a requirement.
As scientists, if we want to stay ahead of current trends, we need to step forward and learn the business concepts that shape today’s job market.
With this course we want to prepare our employees with the necessary skillset to adapt to this new world.

This is a practical, self-paced course for scientists who want to connect with the biomedical/biotech industry. The course is NOT designed to be an expert in those topics, but an introduction, providing the starting point should you choose to work in/with industry.

The program covers a broad set of competencies: creative skills such as design, critical and customer-focused thinking; entrepreneurship fundamentals including the venture cycle, lean methods and business modeling; business skills like strategy, project and operational management, budgeting and economic evaluation; industry expertise in IP law, clinical development, regulation, digital transformation and quality systems; and finally, communication skills ranging from pitching and teamwork to active listening and body language.

The course is divided in 5 Modules, with 2 to 4 lessons, each lesson comprised of short videos of less than 5 min for understanding the mentioned skills. Each module has a Quiz and if you complete each all quizes with passing grade you will be elegible for downloading a certificate. 

  • Module 1. Creative skills: Design-, Creative-, and Critical thinking. Understanding/Identifying customer needs.
  • Module 2. Entrepreneurship: Inventure cycle, Lean Method, Business Model Canvas. 
  • Module 3. Business skills: Strategic- , Project-, and Operational- Management, Budgeting, ROI and Health economic evaluation
  • Module 4. Industry skills: Intellectual Property Law, Clinical development, Medical device regulation, Digital transformation, GxP, QRM.
  • Module 5. Communication skills: Elevator pitch, body language, teamwork, active listening
